I grew up with my grandparents and I love them dearly. One of the things that I like about the Filipino tradition is how much we value and care for our elderly. We tried our best to provide love and care for our parents or even grandparents. We give them our time, manage their health and everything they need just like how they took care of us. It is just sad that sometimes we take for granted that they are old and we often just neglect them. I guess, if you are just gonna desert them we might as well consider sending them to a care home where they can be well taken care of. A home that can provide them a shelter, where they can interact with other elderly and socialize with them. A place where they can be given the treatment they deserve and manage to enjoy what’s left in their lives. Our elderly is our treasure, nothing can compare the wisdom of experience they can impart to us and to our younger generation. Let’s treat them with respect, value them and show them love.
