Do you know someone suffering from drug addiction? Then you must probably know how difficult it is to watch someone close to your heart waste their lives away because of those drugs. I do believe that addiction is a disease that you have to cure but it has to be something that would start from within because no matter what drug treatment you have if you’re not willing to give it all up then it wouldn’t really work. Drug addiction can surely destroy one’s life and all the people that surround him. You’re not only ruining your own life but the lives of your loved-ones who cares a lot so much and it hurts to see that person lose his life away because of drugs. I have been a personal witness to devastating effect of drugs into someone’s life and it’s not at all pretty and the worse thing about it is that there’s nothing much you can do about it because the person dependent on those substance should be the one who wants to change. It was a good thing that a family member that was hooked on drugs came to that realization and he decided to turn his life around and entered himself in a drug rehabilitation program and with sheer dedication he managed to get treatment and after two years in drug rehab, he is now a changed man with a wonderful life and a loving family who never lost faith in him. Addiction is something that affects all of us and it can really destroy one’s life if you let it and don’t do anything about it. But the good news is that, there’s a cure for drug addiction and there’s a lot of drug facilities out there that actually works and a loving support group will always be a big help in overcoming this disease and surpassing all the trials ahead, but mostly, help should come from within with God’s guidance and your willingness to be cured is a big step towards fighting the addiction.

This is the first Christmas that I don’t have him by my side. I was already anticipating a sudden gush of loneliness with the thought that he won’t be calling at the strike of midnight at Christmas eve, I can no longer receive personalized and unique gifts from him and we won’t be dragging each other to go to each of our family dinner. I do miss him and even though I have slowly started to let him go the holidays just makes it too difficult to forget that he’s no longer a part of my life. Today, as expected everyone was asking about him, even my six year old nephew was looking for him and I just smiled and kept my silence. For ten years, he has been a part of my life, my best friend, my boyfriend and everything else it’ll be a lie if I’ll say that he didn't left a void in my heart, the day we both decided it was time to move on and let go. I thought I’m ready, that I have truly freed myself with memories of him but tonight after all the festivity and the rush of the holidays, I was feeling that void that he left and wondering if it can ever be filled by someone else again.

I had a fantastic Christmas celebration with my family and I just love everything about this day. My cousins and I were chatting about why we never get to travel as a family and I think it’s about time that we should. We made plans to take a vacation this summer and we were already looking for some places of interest and we all decided to book early and have Hotel Reservations that fit right to our budget and accommodations that we can all afford. I’m excited and I just can’t wait to take that vacation this summer, we just have to make up our minds where should we go.

This year, I have learned to dive and I really enjoy my newly loved hobby and although there’s still so much to learn before I can take the course into a much deeper level I intend to pursue it next year if my health allows me to go diving again. Swimming along the marine life was such a splendid experience, there’s nothing like it and you can really lost track of the time that’s why I’m thinking of buying a Technomarine watch so that I can still keep track of the time and know when its time to go up.

Since I have Lupus, I have been in and out of the hospital and my illness is so unpredictable that you can’t really know what’s in store for the next day. This is the reason why I told my mom that I want to get a life insurance so that if ever my lupus attack will be severe enough to kill me then at least they could claim something, of course my mom hated the idea and told me that I won’t get a no medical life insurance and if there’s a medical test, I will surely fail. But I found out that there’s a lot of insurance companies out there who has a no medical life insurance and acquiring one is so simple and easy. I guess, I’m considering to really get a no medical life insurance even if my mom thinks I’m a little morbid.

I've got so much to do today and a party to go to later. I'm not really in a party mood but I might as well try to have fun tonight. I am so blessed to have received a lot of gifts from friends and from people I never expected and I still need to gift wrap my gifts, I know I could simply go to the gift wrapping section of the mall to save time but I do enjoy wrapping my own gifts and I like to have a personal note on each and one of them. I also personalize my wrappers, I think it's part of the OC nature I have in me. Yesterday, I got the fruit of my blogging.. doing all those paid link assignments and sometimes jeopardizing my pagerank after getting this one, it was all worth it!

Last Saturday, I attended a friend’s wedding and although I don’t really enjoy being a bridesmaid because of all those fancy dressing up and my stilettos were killing me, I managed to have a fabulous time with my friends. The wedding was simple and nice, I’m not a big fan of red but I think the bride chose a nice color for her wedding.

I particularly liked her souvenirs because it was something new and unique but definitely yummy and nice. The couple decided to have edible wedding favors, personalized candy bars, chocolate bar favors and a candy bar thanks a millions as their souvenirs. I just think it is something different and I just find it really special. Do you know that it is also available in christening favors and personalized kids candy bars? Why don’t you check it out and see for yourself this fun way of giving away something special.

This weekend I had a grand time with my family. We're starting to feel the rush of the holiday season and the malls are too crowded. My family and I decided to spend this weekend doing what I love the most reading, but this time we went to MV Doulos, the world'd oldest floating bookstore who is currently docked at Manila Pier till the 23rd of December and some of the friendly crews whom I got acquainted with told us that it is probably the last voyage of this ship to the Philippines since it's already time to retire the ship.

As a book lover and collector, this is like a field day for me sort of my haven, I could stay here for a day or even sail with it ^-^

After enjoying all those books and bargains, we relaxed a bit at the upper deck of the ship and watched the crew's display of different cultures and traditions around the world. We also took a glimpse of this amazing sunset at Manila Bay...

Truly a majestic and serene sight... I love this weekend, it's a wonderful pause before starting a week filled with parties, noise, food, gifts and everything else. It's also nice to be back doing this meme again, I missed you all and thank you for featuring my blog for this week, sort of a wonderful welcome. Have a nice week ahead everyone!

If there’s one place I would consider living for awhile I would choose a place that is near the beach like Hawaii, so that I can go to the beach anytime and probably learn to surf. I was browsing for some Hawaii homes for sale and they are just so lovely. It makes me want to call up real estate agents to know the cost of having a home there.

Life is a beach and a friend, once told me that since life is short you should always take time to do the things you love to do before your time runs out and it’s already too late to do those things. Looking at Hawaii real estate makes me want to pack my bags and just fly to the place that I can truly appreciate.

One cousin of mine was a drug addict. He wasn’t able to finish college because of his addiction and he was such a burden to his family. When he got married, he was still hooked with drugs and he also lost his job because he can’t show up to work regularly because of it. When his wife and son left him, he had the desire to overcome his addiction and entered a drug rehabilitation facility. After a few years, he is now drug-free and he got his life back.

When I was on my teens, I got hooked with excessive use of the telephone and I’m burning lines with my friends talking about just anything and everything under the sun. I also met some guys that I don’t really know but eventually became friends with. Today, teen chat or chat lines are more popular with teens who want to meet someone new. They just have to call and they won’t even have to leave their numbers, they could just say their message and they could now engage with a free chat.

My mom has a National Geographic subscription and as a child I would browse through the pages and marvel at the beauty of the photographs in the magazine. I think that is where my desire to travel came from. I actually made a list of the places that I want to see in my lifetime and although I’m not even halfway through my list, I am still hopeful that someday I will be able to see all those places. On top of my list is seeing the sunrise at the Grand Canyon, I just think that it’s such a beauty and it will bring me so much serenity. That is one of the many tourist attraction that I want to see in Las Vegas, I also want to experience the fun and excitement of the sin city and stay in one of the famous Las Vegas Hotels. That will surely be fun don’t you think?

I was given this award from my other blog and I just want to share it here and pass it on to anyone who wants it, just leave me a comment so that I can visit you.

I also would like to apologize for not complementing your visits here in this blog and all my other blogs. I’m just having a lot of stress lately and I’m having another Lupus flare. I have been feeling so down the past few days and it’s not just another Blue Christmas Spirit, it’s more than just that but don’t worry I think I’m feeling much better now and after all the link assignments that I need to do, I’ll come by your blogs. In the meantime, I hope you are all doing fine and thank you all so much for the continued visits and comments.

Being single can sometimes be annoying and I’m really starting to hate this phrase “always a bridesmaid, never the bride” I’m having bridesmaid duties again this weekend and it’s the eight time this year alone. What is it about this year that everyone seems to be tying the knot? Well, I don’t really hate weddings, I actually love them and I sort of become an expert in planning a wedding, I can seriously think of having a career for it. I don’t really like fancy weddings but I want weddings that have great flower arrangements, I think they just add to the festive atmosphere of the event. You may think that beautiful flower arrangements are expensive but there are wholesale flowers that are available in an affordable price and you can choose to have it arranged or do it yourself and make a masterpiece out of it. It will just add a special personal touch for your wedding.

It has been a tradition in my family to donate to some charities during the holiday season. And every year, we have hold a Christmas party at an orphanage. It always gives me joy to see those children’s faces when they open their presents and food. It’s also fun to watch them play in games that we prepare. It warms my heart that even in our own small gesture we can show love to these abandoned children. Have you heard about Car Angel? They are responsible in making videos for kids and teens and what’s amazing with this non-profit company is that they solicit funds through car donations as well as other donations to make these videos that are helpful for those kids. Want to take a peek at their video? Well, here it is: http://youtube.com/user/boatangel

I’m not sure I can be that generous enough to donate my car. Can you?

I was out for lunch earlier today and during our chit-chat a friend suddenly remembered that today is supposed to be the tenth anniversary of the day I was about to elope. I was hoping that they will not remember but apparently this day was marked to be somewhat a holiday for my circle of friends. Of course, I do know that this is the day that I was stupid enough to agree to elope with someone I thought I was madly in love with… Well, I was young and totally stupid then and I am glad that God did something to change the course of events otherwise I would have had a miserable life with him. I can very well remember what happened ten years ago and I am glad that I didn’t let my heart overrule my head, I maybe foolish and in love but I chose to be wiser and walked out, I’m glad I did.

It’s probably nice to have this in my view everyday. I really find it elegant and very relaxing. The exquisite place to live in this world is where you can find serenity, comfort, safety and elegance and Waverly South Beach Condo offers just that. It is pet friendly and gives you the best value of your money in West Avenue. It has valet services, beach volleyball, convenience store, party room, yoga, Zen garden and a fabulous lagoon pool. It is also equipped with a 24-hour security so that you can feel safe all the time. Don’t you just want to walk along Lincoln Road or just marvel at the beauty of seeing the sunrise and sunsets in South Beach. What a sight to behold it must have been.

Somebody once told me that...

"Finding the right person is very hard and very wrong... it is best to be the right person for the one you love and start from there...you'll always end up disappointed when you set standards and define a "right person" for you...and don't rush things because somewhere somehow God is preparing somebody for you."

Don't be in a hurry to get into a relationship because you can never find love if you insist that you are already into it. Try to find time to really understand your real feelings, to know who you really are, and what you really want in a relationship. You're right, there's no such thing as a perfect relationship, but there's a compatible partnership that goes along with it. If you already knew that you're too big to fit into a small sized t-shirt, don't give it a try. You'll probably break it and pay for the damages you have made.

If you knew and felt that the relationship will not last, don't go deeper into it. You'll just suffer the consequences and live like hell for the rest of your life. It's really hard to say goodbye though, but you can't make it any better by just pretending you still have the same feelings. Try to let go and give yourself a chance to live life to the fullest. Give yourself a chance to grow and give your heart a much needed attention. Then you will find that you have made the right decision and you made it all by yourself.

We call it love when we can't leave someone and see them crying as we try to let go. We are wrong, it's just pity.

We call it love when we're too attached and think that losing the one we love will somehow make us weak and unable to face the storms of life. We misunderstood, its just that we're too much dependent to them. We call it love when we give our whole life to them, the wholeness of us and imagined that if they leave, no one would accept us and our past. We are mistaken, its just insecurity. But no matter what the definition is, the truth still remains that love isn't something you can buy or beg. It is real and existing. You can't touch it but you can feel it in your heart. You can't find it, but it will knock before you when you least expect it to come. It can make you the happiest soul in heaven, but don't forget that it can also make you the most miserable person in the whole world...

A few days ago, my brother told us that he won't be spending Christmas with us because he and his team members will be sent to Dubai because their entry was chosen as one of the finalist. Their university will be sponsoring their trip and I am just so proud of him. My brother is an advertising student and for their specific entry to the advertising competition they hired a captioning service so that most of the international judges will understand their commercial. Although, we're sad that his leaving for Christmas I am more excited that he is on the right track with his chosen career.

I can't believe that a whole week has passed since I last posted here in this blog, I'm sorry for my constant visitors and readers I just need a moment away and I'm not really in the mood to write anything about love. Well, as much as I want to take a vacation, I can't especially since the holiday season are almost here. But I really think I need a vacation, I'm so stressed out and I've been feeling a bit depressed lately. I'm thinking of Caribbean vacations or maybe I can book on a Bahamas vacation rentals or a Cayman Islands vacation rentals.

That will surely liberate me from all the angst and the misery that I'm experiencing right now. A relaxing holiday that will take my mind off about a certain person that I can't stop thinking about. Well, maybe it's just wishful thinking but who knows, someday I might just take that vacation. But for now, what I need is a long nice break.

A tag from Arlene

So here it goes:
Make a paragraph or two regarding your personal meaning of Christmas, below the paragraph of the one who tagged you and you may put your name at the end of the paragraph linking back to your blog or right to the post of this particular tag. Then you tag as many as you can.

-------- Start copy here:
Christmas to me is a special time to ponder the great love God has done to us by giving us His Son to be born in Bethlehem long time ago. So, this season is a time for sharing and giving love to everyone. I feel that everyone is happy on Christmas time. Yeah, pressures on holiday expenses may bother us but if you have to remember the true essence of Christmas - you just can’t help but feel happy to know that you have made your loved one, your next door neighbor, the inmates, the homeless, the orphans, or anyone happy because you give love on Christmas day. Dancing in Midlife Tune/ Sunshineforlife.

Christmas for me is the ultimate reminder on how much God loves us, that He gave His only Son Jesus Christ to be our Savior. For me, its a celebration of love and a time to share our blessings to others.. a time for giving and reaching out to the less fortunate and it's also a wonderful time to be with your family. Christmas is not just all about santa claus or the gifts that you will receive or for shopping, we should always remember that Jesus is the reason for the season and let us reflect on how much God loves us. - Just Let Go/Pieces of Me

------- End copy here ------

Every year, my family and I attend a formal gathering sponsored by my mom’s organization and I really don’t like to attend in parties like this because you really have to dress up. I’m not really comfortable with formal wear but its part of a family obligation that I have to endure once a year. So how do I achieve a sophisticated, refined and posh look? By putting on a set of cufflinks, it will surely be a great finishing touch in my formal wear.
